About us
Built by the coast. Focused on potential.
Yorkshire Coast CIC is a youth-focused community organisation working across York, North Yorkshire and surrounding coastal communities.
Who we are
Yorkshire Coast CIC works predominantly with young people in coastal communities across York and North Yorkshire. We create active, practical routes into confidence, skills, participation and opportunity.
We believe the grit, energy and rhythm of the coastline can become a powerful setting for growth — but our work is about people, not postcards. We build with communities and respond to what young people say they need.
Our mission
We exist where the sea meets potential: turning coastal energy into lasting opportunity for every young person we reach.
Our vision
Coastal communities where every young person can see a positive next step and has a fair chance to take it.
Our approach
Trusted relationships, meaningful activity and space for young people to lead.
What guides us
- Work with young people, not around them.
- Build on strengths, ideas and local relationships.
- Make participation welcoming, practical and purposeful.
- Be clear about what we know, what changed and what comes next.
- Collaborate when it creates a better opportunity.
Governance
Yorkshire Coast CIC is an active Community Interest Company, company number 12564552, incorporated in 2020. Approved team and leadership profiles can be added here once the organisation is ready to publish them.
